EODFixer - Instructions ============ Installation. ============ Unzip the EODFIXER.ZIP file to a convenient place, such as your desktop or a temporary folder. Run the program SETUP.EXE to begin installing the program to your system. During the Setup process, you may choose a specific location in which to save the program files, or accept the default (which is C:\Program Files\EODFixer\EODFixer.exe). Once installed, you can launch the program from the Start >> All Programs >> EODFixer >> EODFixer link which has been created on your system. You may now remove the temporary folder in which you unzipped EODFIXER.ZIP, and EODFIXER.ZIP itself, if you wish to reclaim some space. ============== Uninstallation ============== To remove EODFixer, simply use the link provided in Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> EODFixer. ================= Program Operation ================= The first time you run EODFixer, you must tell it where to save the files it downloads and creates. Do this by clicking on the Settings icon on EODFixer's main toolbar, and then either manually typing in a location (termed the Download Folder from here onwards) or by using the Browse button to locate a folder. While in the Settings window, you should choose the type of output file you wish EODFixer to create. Choose from either standard OHLCV data in a comma-separated-values (CSV) file, or a Metastock (MET) file, or an Indexia (DIX) file. Finally, choose the Sector and Index EPICs that you wish EODFixer to download and convert for you on each run. Use the All or None buttons to assist you, if you need to make a lot of changes here. Click the OK button to accept the settings you have indicated, and to return to the main display. From here, you have two main choices: Fetch Today's or Fetch by Date. Fetch Today's will download the most recent set of files from ADVFN, handling weekends and out-of-hours conditions appropriately. EODFixer will create one file containing data for all the EPICs you chose above, for the most recent sensible date, and in the output format you chose. Fetch by Date will enable you to choose a start and end date, so that the output file will contain data for a range of dates, for all the EPICs you chose, in the output format desired. Once the process has completed, you will be informed in the main window, and can then press the Open Folder button to jump directly to the folder where the file has been created. From there, you can incorporate the output file into you charting package in the way you would normally handle files from ADVFN's Data Download page. =================== Support Information =================== The official homepage for this program is at http://www.bigjacko.com Future versions (if written) will be distributed from that site alone.
